choirmaster/chief conductor’s assistant of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir (EPCC)
Mai Simson
I think Scoremusic is especially useful for choirs or other similar types of ensembles because it gives the group leader a possibility to transmit different comments and notes in one score and easily share it with the whole group. It becomes particularly important when the matters are time critical.
Another advantage of this platform is that there is no need to send out the PDF-s, but it is possible to just upload the files in the cloud and make them available for the group when needed. With longer period of time there develops a digital library, where in addition to the scores, the group members will have all of information regarding the pieces stored.

Scoremusic reached us thanks to conductor Tõnu Kaljuste and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, who have been using this platform for a longer period.
As a new user of Scoremusic, I value the most the possibilities that using this platform provides – efficiency, user-friendliness, and cost-effectiveness. We highly appreciate that there is no need to send paper sheet music by mail or courier from one end of the world to the other; this results in significant resource savings. At the same time, Scoremusic allows access to sheet music from anywhere with an internet connection. In the presence of web material, sheet music can be distributed to musicians with a single click, and the user can receive notes made by the group leader or conductor almost instantly.
There is no need to carry various sheets of music; all the material can be consolidated into one smart device. Our first need to use Scoremusic was related to a theater performance in which the orchestra participated. Our musicians had to use sheet music in almost complete darkness, regardless of stage lighting."

Our ensemble travels a lot and performs in very different types of venues and environments, from fancy large opera halls to abandoned world-war hangars and anything between. We play a wide range of repertoire, from conducted larger classical formations to experimental sets with choreographed mise-en-scene and light shows. And the one solution that made all this versatility possible is Scoremusic. Beside the expected benefits that a music reading app can provide, such as immediate and easy to access edits, fast access and controllable tools, Scoremusic provides overview to the artistic directors to correct and edit inputs to any/all parts and score simultaneously and make them instantly available; an option that is very useful in a contemporary music ensemble.
We dare to plan any staging or repertoire with no hesitation because of the reliability that ScoreMusic provides. But perhaps the most valuable and important feature of ScoreMusic is the team behind it: a fully supportive and always available team which is ready to cater to any wishes and ideas. The app is being constantly developed and updated to incorporate every small needs the musicians have in various situations, and the team is having first hand knowledge and understanding of what they are doing.
Our ensemble has benefited considerably ever since we are using Scoremusic products, and we plan to continue this fruitful partnership!

Scoremusic app is a great tool to share sheetmusic to a big group of people. It is easy to navigate and helps you share a specific part to a specific group of people. It is also useful to arrange pieces to setlists, which helps the musicians to easily find the necessary material.
As a music librarian, I use Scoremusic almost every day. In addition to sharing sheetmusic, it can also work as communication tool. A concertmaster can share his/her bowings or any markings directly to the whole group. It is possible to do it also during rehearsals if all the players are playing from the app.

The adoption of the digital sheet music by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir (EPCC) in 2021 is an excellent example of how technology and innovation can positively affect the field of professional classical music. This change has made the work processes of the choir more efficient, enabling the conductors' notes and repertoire changes to be quickly delivered to the singers through their iPads.
The use of digital sheet music tool also helps to reduce paper consumption, promoting a sustainable mindset which is highly valued at the EPCC. Our partnership with Scoremusic has been natural and productive journey, illustrating well how local solutions can have a global impact, contributing to the broader development of the cultural field. Hopefully, the example set by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir will inspire other music ensembles to adopt similar innovations
